Amid criticism of Gotham Knight’s art style, fans are now saying that the title’s user interface looks like a mobile game.
The latest Batman game (which doesn’t actually contain Batman) has met with mixed approval. Although Dexerto gave Gotham Knights a positive rating of 8 out of 10, many other reviews have been more critical.
In particular, the art design and graphics of Gotham City have received criticism from fanswith some saying they pale in comparison to older games.
But it seems that it’s not just the assets and graphics of the game that players feel are lacking.
Players call Gotham Knight’s UI “mobile game” quality
Reddit user ‘InternationalWafer74’ posted a screenshot of Gotham Knight’s character customization menu with the caption: “Gotham Knight’s UI looks like a mobile game…”
The screenshot shows the requirements for crafting a piece of equipment, with the required components marked with bright icons. This seems to be the source of derision, and many other players agree with the comments.
Capital_Television75 replied “[h]oh my god, this looks bad,” adds CHEWBRIEL, “[r]okay? I’m still waiting for someone to tell me this is a joke.”
User playtio sarcastically commented, “[p]probably was at some point,” which is more of a dig at the overall quality of the game.
But the most damning criticism came from Sorripto, who bluntly said “[a]no chance to remind everyone that the collector’s edition of this game was $299.99.”
Gamers clearly expect more from a game like Gotham Knights than “mobile quality” graphics.
